Bluehatseo goes down
So Bluehatseo goes down because he’s been ddos’d. I’m scouring the Internet and I find this below. Now I don’t know whether this is made up crap or for real so don’t blame me if it’s not, I’m just saying what I see:
(8:25:42 PM) youkn0w: this si being done to eli, or bluehatseo.com to be specific
(8:25:58 PM) youkn0w: he is “outing” too many people and the people’s methods, which are meant to be private
(8:26:13 PM) youkn0w: messing with their business, you know
(8:26:24 PM) windfox: very interesting
(8:26:44 PM) kaveman: youkn0w
(8:26:47 PM) kaveman: he aint outing no one
(8:27:07 PM) youkn0w: not the people themselves, but the people’s methods
(8:27:33 PM) youkn0w: he was given some information which was meant to be private, and he ended up posting it on his website
(8:27:38 PM) kaveman: what? breaking a captcha
(8:27:49 PM) youkn0w: so a few people got mad, and thats why his site is down
(8:27:58 PM) Smaxy [n=Smaxildo@12-184-75-66.att-inc.com] entered the room.
(8:28:18 PM) youkn0w: there’s a few specifics in that article which he stole from other people, but he posted things in the past
(8:28:30 PM) kaveman: hwat that captcha breaking post? it was a guest post
(8:28:38 PM) youkn0w: a proxy-captcha-solver thing to be specific
(8:29:05 PM) youkn0w: if he was around, he would know what i am referring to
(8:29:31 PM) kaveman: so what, still doesnt deserve the attacks
(8:29:35 PM) adam-_-: yeh but (my guess) people who read it either a) already know about it b) are gonna be too lazy to get off their arse and implement it
If this is true some folks need to grow up. I mean come on, life’s just a game, why do they feel like they need to pull down someone’s server because he posts something they don’t like. Maybe they’re just jealous that Eli has a decent site with fantastic loyal readers.
According to this posted stuff I’ve gone down real well too:
Cdogg: which is the article in question the phpbb captcha breaker?
(8:49:31 PM) windfox: this one? http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:Vgqq8RCE_FAJ:www.bluehatseo.com/user-contributed-captcha-breaking-w-phpbb2-example/+%22bluehatseo.com%22+captcha&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us&client=firefox-a
(8:49:38 PM) Gnaser: I’m guessing the one in which he mentions setting up a web proxy to get kids to break the captchas
(8:49:52 PM) youkn0w: not the whole article, but pieces in it. in addition to things he has posted int he past
(8:49:59 PM) Tobsn: that guy is so stupid
(8:50:01 PM) youkn0w: in the*
(8:50:27 PM) d0nuts [n=nnscript@71.231.1.74] entered the room.
(8:50:38 PM) Tobsn: funny thing is, hes so stupid he even converts the pic into pnm
(8:50:39 PM) kaveman: what things he posted in the past
(8:51:02 PM) Tobsn: nothing
(8:51:04 PM) Tobsn: hes a moron
(8:51:09 PM) trophaeum: youkn0w, you realize this will just get this article more attention?
(8:51:10 PM) kaveman: cause if its over that captcha thats some gay ass shit
(8:51:12 PM) kaveman: grow up
(8:51:22 PM) Tobsn: http://www.darkseoprogramming.com/
(8:51:40 PM) foucist: Tobsn: there’s an OCR for pnm files tho ?
(8:51:49 PM) Tobsn: …
(8:51:58 PM) YoungMaster [n=69@S0106000e08ed0133.vc.shawcable.net] entered the room.
(8:51:58 PM) Tobsn: okay we have a new dummy of the month
(8:51:59 PM) Tobsn: ;)
So before people all start taking chunks outta me what I will say is this. I ain’t even close to the best blackhat SEO, but I know a fair bit about programming so I chucked this site up. I’m learning more and more every day and I hope this site helps some folks out. Yeah, you can probably dig this stuff up from over the net in different places but here it is organised with downloadable zips to help if you aren’t so good at coding. Ah damn it, read it if you want and don’t if you don’t.
Hope you guys are keeping busy and enjoying life
Update: http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-shit/25354-eli-working-white-house.html youkn0w tells us why it’s happening. I found the text here http://pastebin.ca/943272 and I didn’t post it earlier because I didn’t know if Eli would want what is highlighted as his pic broadcast widely, but heck it’s on WickedFire. Let’s all hope this gets sorted.

One of excellent blogs that I have ever seen.

moral: be careful what you post because if you mess with peoples livelehoods outing private methods that were supposed to stay that way you’re gonna get f*cked up.
it aint childish its business. some people do this shit for a living other people get fame off the hard work of others. if you walk into my house and steal my stereo well…you do the maths.

Complete link bait.
March 16th, 2008 at 3:27 pm
Link bait?? Is it? News to me. I’m just pointing out that bluehatseo.com has been down. Ah well. If it gets links I’ll tell you
. Then you can accuse me of link baiting.
March 16th, 2008 at 4:50 pm
Its not linkbait. I openly swore I would never do linkbait on the blog. It’s a betrayal of trust to the readers. I don’t want them to have to guess whats attention whoring and whats real.
But thanks Harry,
I will keep your article up no matter what. No douche bag will ever tell me what to do with my blog.
March 16th, 2008 at 6:07 pm
Oh right. I see. He (Matt) thinks Eli’s linkbaiting??? Let me get this. Eli ddos’d his own server, and then redirected it to the whitehouse to get links… And then came to my site under a false name as anon and claims that it’s being done because he’s outing techniques.
That would be an interesting plan. Are you confused? I am.
March 17th, 2008 at 2:57 am
careful what you post here buddy or you’re the next ddos victim.
March 17th, 2008 at 6:48 am
“That would be an interesting plan. Are you confused? I am.”
Not at all… IMO its linkbait… a marketing event.
Since when did DDOS attackers actively promote (”youre giving away too much info…”) the target site in Internet Marketing forum’s / blog comments?
Have you never seen the “what xxx does not want you to know” routine used in aff pages / PPC ads?
This is either a marketing event or the most benevolent DDOS attack in history!!
Looked at BHSEO site earlier, I did not get timeout as I would expect, it looked more like a very long loop loading a blank page.
Now I see WP error page loading in 0.6s …. not consistent with DOS….
Ic you are in the UK…
There are a couple of good UK blogs discussing spam / giving away scripts you may be interested in… if you don’t already read these mail me and Ill give you links…

hmm had a look at that forum post… saw Eli’s comments:
“at the very least attack something that matters to your target”
That is another reason why I thought this was a stunt… I would have expected one of his commercial money makers to be targeted…. something that mattered.
But… as Eli does not care about the site enough to maintain it, I don’t suppose he would bother spending time on a a stunt to promote it either….
So maybe my previous comment was wide of the mark… very wide…. weird situation…
March 17th, 2008 at 2:30 pm
I don’t honestly believe it would make a good stunt idea. I mean you need a fairly large user base for anyone to take any notice. If you have a fairly large user base then why bother pulling the stunt. Especially as for the time you pull the stunt nobody has access to your site to link to it anyway or read the material and actually spend money on the services being offered.
At least you’re thinking for yourself and not believing what either side says. That’s the main thing
.
However Eli wouldn’t mess his readers about like this.
March 17th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
yeah think I youre right….
March 17th, 2008 at 5:28 pm
I think people are too quick to denounce shit as “link bait” nowadays. I’ve done it a few times, got caught once, and admitted to it, but now everyone just assumes you’re crying wolf. It’s so stupid.
Eli wasn’t making this up. I don’t know, nor do I really care who is behind the attacks. I understand its a “nothing personal, just business” type of issue, but there are better, legal and/or not so shady ways to handle shit like this. I think a DDoS attack on someone’s blog will just make them want to re-post the stuff that was originally the target, and make it more resilliant next time, so that the post stays up. Plus it attracts a ton of attention, from the same people they are trying to hide it from, and also from the authorities here in the US.
I’m posting the rest of this comment on the WickedFire.com thread, since it’s pretty long winded.
March 18th, 2008 at 6:14 am
It is not stupid when the DOS attacker, or at least their “representative” is promoting the target in an IM forum with lines like:
“giving away too many secrets”
I mean, it reads like sales copy for a scammy ebook….
Had they attacked “Eli’s Pockets” and made a discrete demand then the question of link-bait would not have arisen…

Very Interesting….

Looking very cool.Have a lot of patience.
March 19th, 2008 at 2:14 am
Is it possible to maintain all these things?
March 19th, 2008 at 7:34 am

Eli’s site really took the lid off of the public seo discussion. When you start telling the truth, the creeps and criminals strart oozing out the slime to shut you down. So Eli, keep up the good work. Keep talking until the creeps, criminals, and all the other suppressive, oppressive seo agents of hysteria burn themselves up in the stink of their own rage and fear.
March 23rd, 2008 at 4:21 am
I reached today on a nice blog, I will regularly follow it.
March 23rd, 2008 at 3:01 pm
